This illustration is in support of organic farming and an organic food supply. My illustration style is inspired by a lot of different styles, I would say. All manner of old woodcut prints, for sure. In Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, once printing was available and more affordable, popular booklets called chapbooks were printed with simple, naive woodcuts. I've always loved that style for its goofy awkwardness. The LAYOUT of the illustration---how all the illustrated elements were placed—- is actually pretty tightly designed, though: the balance of the separate illustrations, the positive and negative space, the balance of the color placement, the type design.
